SEAL BROOK WOODLAND SCHOOL

 

This one day course has been designed to teach you everything you need to know about mastering the most fundamental skill in bushcraft, survival and wilderness living. 

 

The morning will be given over to fire lighting techniques where we will examine the science of fire, ignition sources (both ancient, modern and emergency), natural and man-made tinders, kindling sourcing and preparation, fire lays, fire establishment, maintenance, moderation and application.

 

After lunch we will go on to examine probably the most challenging fire lighting technique, fire by friction. Participants will come to fully understand the science behind the magic and more importantly the problem solving process that leads to success. After mastering the process you will be guided through harvesting and manufacturing the components needed for a bow drill kit that you can then take away and continue your journey with.
