Woodland Birthday Parties

Our Bushcraft Birthday Parties have been designed to provide a completely unique experience for children aged 8 years and over that combines having loads of fun in the natural environment of the woods whilst learning some of the bushcraft and wilderness living skills that our ancestors would have used to survive.

Birthday parties are not only limited to young people, adult groups are very welcome to join in on the fun!

Bushcraft encompasses a whole range of skills so there are a number of activities that you can choose from, they include:

  • Fire lighting techniques from across the ages using natural and human-made tinders and techniques.

  • Natural Shelter/ Den Building - a brilliant team working activity

  • Bread making - Making your own dough and cooking it on the fire

  • Natural Navigation and map reading - find North and South and use this information to complete an orienteering course

  • Natural cordage - use plant fibres to make a usable product

  • Game preparation - learn to check, fillet and cook whole fresh fish (older groups only)

  • Knife and saw safety and greenwood working (for older groups)

  • Archery on our woodland range

  • Axe throwing on our woodland range

  • Animal Acquisition - use knife and saw skills to make improvised traps or traditional hunting tools such as an Atlatl or Swiss arrow.

Our parties last 3.5 hours and consist of a combination of the above activities. This is followed by time to sit around the fire, have a drink of squash, toast marshmallows and cook and eat some food if requested. The party will conclude with a group photo. If you have any of your own ideas or requests, we are always happy to accommodate you as best as we can.

We can run woodland parties any day of the week and they generally start at either 9.00am or 1:30pm, we can also offer after school parties as dictated by daylight hours.
